Born in 1957 in Belfort, she descends gradually to the South of France.
Early studies at the School of Fine Arts in Valence (Drôme) allow him to practice intensively and to master the academic drawing. She also discovered the story of Bourdin’s painting at Giacometti. Her increased understanding of drawing quickly guides her to her own writing.
In 1983, she returned to the School of Decorative Arts in Nice, and saw a period of questioning. The influence of Zao-Wou-Ki is very strong during these years.
Then she chooses her path and definitely sticks to pencils and brushes. A parallel work in the studio of Pierre Chave (Vence) has made lithographs for Ernst, Tobiasse, Cottavoz, Broquy, Franta, Curozau, Haiting, Rochon.

In 1989, first exhibition in Nice: she reveals her drawings where the white paper plays with her shaky silhouettes. Chinese ink and Japanese paper give it a style close to Far Eastern graphics.
The color, the red first, mixes little by little. Deep, theatrical, it emphasizes the presence of a decor, a plot.
Since 1995, she has regularly participated in Art Expo (New York) and her work is regularly exhibited in various galleries in the United States, Canada and southern France.
At the beginning of the 2000s, the canvas became predominant. The lime, applied, scraped, sanded, becomes a refuge and remembers the fresco. Fascinated by the material, Nathalie Verdier perfectly mixes her different renderings: soft, silky, rough, shiny, scratched, rough …
Forms in movement, emanations of operatic music, her figures are moved by a mysterious choreography. His painting becomes a decor for the Opéra Bastille in Paris, illustration of seasonal brochures and posters for the Opéra de Nice, then recently for Chorégies d’Orange.
In 2014, she won the Jury Prize at the Monaco Artists’ Open.
Nathalie Verdier has been permanently presented since 2003 by Galerie Otero in St Paul-de-Vence.
